How We Can Help
When you are faced with the unimaginable, whether that is a serious injury or sudden death within your farm family, it can be so overwhelming that you might not be sure where to begin. We are here to help how and when you need us to. We offer to hold your hand through the unknown and the bridge the gap between you and professionals who are there to help you.
Embrace FARM offer practical and emotional support to those who have experienced serious injury or sudden death within a farm family.
Emotional Support
Emotional support starts with an initial contact call with our family liaison officer. On this call, we’re here to listen as you tell us your story.
We can explain what support is available to you and your family, and if you are interested in some of the offerings, we will connect you with the right people only if and when you want it.
Encircle Programme
As part of the Encircle Programme, we offer 1:1 counselling with an accredited counsellor for you or your farming family. You can read more about the Encircle Programme here.
Support Groups
We also offer on-going peer-to-peer support groups throughout the year around Ireland facilitated by Embrace FARM. We have a Widows group as well as a Survivors group that meet semi-regularly.
Practical Support
After experiencing a loss, whether that is through serious injury or sudden death, you may be left feeling overwhelmed and wondering where to go next with the farm business.
Questions might come up such as:
- Who are the successors?
- Who gets the farm?
- What can I expect from the inquest process?
- What if there is no Will in place?
- We weren’t married, what happens now?
- What happens if our home isn’t in joint names?
Embrace FARM recommends that you consult with your family solicitor, accountant and trusted family friend or relative before making any lasting decisions.
We can provide information consultations with financial professionals, legal support, succession planning experts and agri business mentors.
If you or someone you know could use some support after a serious injury or sudden death within a farm family, get in touch with us to tell us your story.
