Encircle Programme
Bridging the Gap
The programme was started in order to bridge the gap in rural services by providing a structured, single point of contact between local professionals and peer-to-peer supports with the farm family and communities affected by serious injury or sudden death.
We know that time passed does not define the grief as we welcome farm families no matter how recent their loss is. If you or someone you know needs support in the aftermath of a loss within a farm family, reach out to us and tell us your story.
We can support families who are experiencing
grief and loss through:
- Serious injury where the person’s life was altered, physically or mentally/cognitively
- Death by suicide
- Sudden terminal illness
- Sudden medical events
- Farming accidents
A person reaches out to Embrace FARM where we listen without judgement and share what support services are available to the farm family or individual.
Embrace FARM will send out a detailed information pack along with the Embrace FARM remembrance candle.
Embrace FARM will follow up with the farm family or individual in a couple of weeks after the initial call.
Practical and emotional supports are offered and provided to suit the unique needs of the farm family.
Embrace FARM will continue to support and liaise with the farm family/individual as they receive the supports.
Funding
The programme has been funded in its initial year through the European Innovation Partnerships (EIP-Agri) Unit of the Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine as part of their Farm Safety, Health and Wellbeing Strand of development.
