Embrace FARM Events 2018
November 2018 – Residential Weekends
November 2018 is the third year in which Embrace FARM host its residential family weekends for families in its network that have been affected by a farming accident.
The first weekend is November 3rd & 4th, the focus on this time is to bring together families who have lost a parent or young sibling in a farm accident. This weekend is tailored to younger children. Being held at the Birr County Arms Hotel in County Offaly, the weekends begins at 10am on Saturday morning and will conclude lunchtime on Sunday. Embrace FARM covers all costs associated with the weekend to include, accommodation, meals (food only) and activities. Activities include either a trip to Birr Outdoor Education Centre or Birr Castle on the Saturday. Sunday will host a child centered remembrance service in the morning. All workshops and activities are optional and we advise people coming to go at your own pace.
Through feedback from families in recent times, we are hosting our first extended family weekend on November 10th & 11th 2018. The focus of this weekend is to bring together adults within a family that are over 18 years of age and have lost a parent, adult sibling, grandparent, grand child, niece/nephew, cousin, aunt/uncle, etc. Accommodation will be hosted at the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel with options for people to stay Friday & Saturday nights or Saturday night only. Activities include the options of visiting Castlecomer Discovery Park or Newbridge Silverware Tour. All costs will be covered by Embrace FARM for those who wish to come along and share their time.
There will be a fully accredited councellor at both weekends to help families with their loss and grief.
